McCullough Robertson adds east coast firepower with appointment of new Sydney Partners
McCullough Robertson has bolstered its presence in New South Wales (NSW) with the appointment of two experienced Henry Davis York (HDY) partners, Jason Munstermann and Scarlet Reid.
The appointment of Jason and Scarlet as Partners along with three senior members of their teams is a significant milestone for McCullough Robertson, which opened its Sydney office in 2010. The team will join the litigation business unit headed by Guy Humble and contribute to the continued growth of the Sydney practice.
McCullough Robertson is growing its eastern seaboard offering. It has a strong reputation including in resources and renewables, government, technology and real estate. During the past seven years it has increased its foothold in NSW.
Jason led the Disputes team at HDY. He has been recognised in Asia Pacific Legal 500 for Dispute Resolution in 2017, 2016 and 2015, and in Chambers Asia-Pacific in 2017. He has deep experience in dispute resolution and acts for some of Australia’s largest companies. He also advises clients in the government, financial, property, mining, insurance and telecommunications sectors.
Scarlet is a preeminent employment and safety lawyer. She built the safety practice from scratch and led the team at HDY. In 2016 she earned the accolade as Best Lawyers’ 2016 Sydney Occupational Health & Safety Law “Lawyer of the Year”. Scarlet has leading experience in the employment and safety sector and her clients include large corporations and government agencies. She also provides support to clients being investigated for breaches of safety laws, including investigations into workplace incidents and representation at coronial inquests.
McCullough Robertson Chairman of Partners Dominic McGann said the firm was delighted with the addition of Jason and Scarlet along with three talented senior associates to the firm’s Sydney office.
“Both Jason and Scarlet are leading lawyers in their respective fields who command respect and regard nationally,” Mr McGann said.
“The opportunity to bring these outstanding industry leaders into our partnership aligns with our strategy to build a true east coast brand which is different to other national law firms, and offers a different national and international platform to our competitors,” he said.
Mr McGann said he was extremely confident the pair would find strong similarities between the firms including from a cultural perspective. “We are looking forward to their contribution as we continue to align our expertise and industry footprints to capitalise on emerging markets and opportunities.”
He said McCullough Robertson’s approach to client service played a key role in the pair’s decision to join the firm.
“We service our clients with small partner led teams focussed on efficient and effective delivery. Clients have direct access to partners and this approach was appealing to both Jason and Scarlet who adopt a very similar approach to achieving client solutions,” he said.
