McCullough Robertson bolsters Government offering with key lateral partner hire in Sydney

Leading independent Australian law firm McCullough Robertson Lawyers announced today the appointment of Amber Sharp as a partner in the national Employment Relations and Safety team.

This appointment supports three key areas of focus for McCullough Robertson:

  • State and Commonwealth Government offering;
  • Sydney and New South Wales growth; and
  • strengthening the national Employment Relations and Safety practice.

Ms Sharp joins McCullough Robertson from well regarded Sydney-based law firm Bartier Perry Lawyers where she supported both Government and corporate clients with workplace advisory and litigation matters, with a particular focus on discrimination, bullying and termination disputes. Prior to her role at Bartier Perry, Amber led the Workplace team at Marque lawyers as a Partner and spent six years at Henry Davis York.

With over 20 years’ experience as a workplace lawyer, Amber is well known in Sydney employment law circles and has a reputation as a technically excellent and commercially pragmatic lawyer. In addition to her employment law expertise, Amber practices in Administrative Law and is a highly regarded Government lawyer.

The addition of Ms Sharp supports McCullough Robertson’s growth plans for their Sydney offering. 2020 marks 10 years since expanding into Sydney and the Firm has demonstrated sustained growth ever since. McCullough Robertson now boasts 13 partners in New South Wales and, along with a growing number of talented senior authors, reflects the Firm’s strong culture of ‘a Big Firm without the attitude’.

Ms Sharp commented on the move; “I see this move to McCullough Robertson as a great opportunity to continue to build my practice with likeminded professionals. It feels like a very natural fit. I am looking forward to being part of the growth story both for the Firm’s Government offering as well as the broader Sydney plans.”

The appointment of Ms Sharp is effective 1 June 2020. She will be based in the Sydney office.
