Our 18-month graduate program stands as a distinctive chance for recent law graduates to undergo a structured training program within a highly supportive environment.

As an McR Graduate, you are granted the valuable opportunity to collaborate with various practice groups within the firm, concurrently participating in the fully funded Practical Legal Training (PLT) program. This dual experience ensures a comprehensive and enriching foundation for your legal career.

Clerkship program

Our structured clerkship programs are aimed at providing you with invaluable hands on experiences, allowing you the opportunity to work across a number of areas of the firm, alongside partners and with clients. Our clerkship programs are open to pre-penultimate and penultimate law students looking for success with support every step of the way.

Pre-Penultimate: Brisbane only – eight week duration and may be completed over two years.

Penultimate: Brisbane – four week duration, Sydney – seven week duration.

First Nation’s Legal Clerkship Program

Our clerkship program is not only a great opportunity for law students to gain valuable practical experience, but it’s also a chance to understand our mission and the culture at McCullough Robertson. Many of our clerks will go on to join our firm through our graduate program.

We offer clerkships to pre-penultimate and penultimate law students in our Brisbane office.

Development

As a clerk and graduate at McCullough Robertson, you will get the opportunity to participate in regular development sessions aimed at growing your legal aptitude and strengthening your personal development attributes.

You will be mentored by partners and senior associates who are experts in their field. We understand the transition from student to professional lawyer can be daunting. As clerks and graduates, you will have the opportunity to participate in The Big Buddy program focused providing you with support and direction as you commence your career journey at McCullough Robertson.

Support

As a graduate at McCullough Robertson, you are provided with fully funded Practical Legal Training (PLT) and admission, as well as supported with a 30 week paid PLT development program through the College of Law, and nine days of paid study leave.

In supporting you commence your professional career with us, we will contribute up to $3,000 during your graduate program to go towards the payment of your legal HECS debt.
