Lisa is an experienced building and construction disputes Senior Associate with extensive expertise in large and complex litigation involving major infrastructure projects across the Eastern seaboard.

Lisa acts for principals, contractors, subcontractors and design consultants on private and public sector projects of all sizes.

She acts in partnership with clients at all stages of the project life cycle from tender through to close out of project claims and disputes.

Lisa utilises her experience in disputes to effectively identify and minimise risk throughout projects by developing and advising on commercial strategies and contract administration.

Lisa champions the use of emerging legal technology and project management tools to maximise efficiency and client insight into their matters.

Experience

Combustible cladding disputes

Acting for fire and façade engineers on a number of disputes relating to combustible cladding in all mainland Australian States including Supreme Court of Queensland proceedings.

Design and Building Practitioners Act

Advising design consultants on the introduction of the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW) including the extension of the common law duty of care, the introduction of registration and insurance requirements and drafting submissions on the Bill on behalf of a consultant.

Security of Payment claim – Queensland

Acting for a design joint venture to bring a Security of Payment claim as part of the commercial close out of a road project in South East Queensland resulting in a settlement of the claim.

Security of Payment claim – New South Wales

Acting for a design joint venture to successfully bring a Security of Payment claim in relation to a major road project in New South Wales, the successful adjudication application contributed to a commercial settlement on a separate stage of the same project.

Defending time and cost claim

Advising a construction joint venture to defend a claim for time and cost brought by a mechanical and electrical subcontractor in arbitral proceedings involving a tunnel project.

Side deed interpretation

Advising on and acting in Supreme Court proceedings for a design joint venture in relation to the interpretation of a side deed involving bonus payments for upstream recoveries on a major urban rail project.
