Louise is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, specialising in mining and resources, renewables, and energy and infrastructure transactions.
She advises on:
- mergers & acquisitions (including commodity sales and services arrangements)
- joint ventures
- infrastructure arrangements, commercial and project documents
- the implementation of complex commercial transactions to structure acquisitions, disposals, and establish new ventures with advantageous tax outcomes
Louise also regularly advises mining and resources clients on energy transition opportunities, including by way of acquisition and development of renewable energy projects in Australia.
Louise is closely involved with the Queensland Resources Council, the Queensland Exploration Council, and the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies and their initiatives, and leads McCullough Robertsonās Resources and Renewables Industry Group.

Advised on and implemented New Hope Corporation Limitedās (ASX:NHC) acquisition of Rio Tintoās 40% interest in the Bengalla mine in New South Wales for $865 million.
Whitehaven Coal Limited
Advising on and documenting a restructure of certain of Whitehaven Coal Ltdās (ASX: WHC) joint venture assets and financing.
Malabar Coal
Advising on the acquisition of Anglo Coalās Drayton South Project and Drayton Coal Mine in the Hunter Valley.
AMCI Investments
Advising with respect to its exit from a NSW mining asset and infrastructure project including complex counterpay and supply arrangement claims, creditor and priority issues.
CS Energy
Advising on the funding and restructure of the supply arrangements which facilitated the sale of Angloās Callide Coal Mine, which mine provides the energy requirements for the Callide power stations owned by CS Energy.
Yancoal Limited
Negotiating, advising on and documenting the structure and commercial arrangements for the sharing of infrastructure between a private client and Yancoal Limited (ASX: YAL).
Sale of private mining royalty
Advising, negotiating and implementing the sale of a private mining royalty and related contracts for $70 million to Anglo.
Elliott Advisors Group
Advising the biggest activist hedge fund in the world with $34.1 billion of assets under management, in relation to the acquisitions of its two solar farm projects, and most recently with the refinancing of the Australian renewable energy projects of Elliott Green Power Australia with foreign banks Natixis and Intesa Sanpaolo.

Advising German solar developer BayWa r.e. on its 12-year power supply agreement with Australian beverage company CUB (AB InBev).
