McCullough Robertson has successfully assisted Bowdens Silver in gaining development consent for its Silver Mine Project located in New South Wales.

Bowdens Silver is the largest undeveloped silver project in Australia and one of the largest globally. It is located in central New South Wales and comprises mineral tenements spanning 2,007 square kilometres across the Rylstone Volcanics on the western edge of the Great Dividing Range.

The project will yield significant by-products in the form of substantial zinc and lead deposits, which have been officially acknowledged by the NSW Government as critical minerals and high-tech metals under its strategic plan. These highly valuable metals will play a vital role in facilitating technological advancements in a range of fields, including electronics, solar power, aerospace, electric vehicles, and medicine.

Our team was engaged in the entire process, which involved reviewing the Environmental Impact Statement, advising on all environmental impacts, including biodiversity, noise, dust, water licensing, and approval requirements, as well as providing advice on the mining lease application process and access to private, Council, and Crown land. The Project Approvals team has also actively assisted Bowdens Silver to negotiate an agreement with the native title claimant.
