Alex is a construction, energy and infrastructure lawyer with 10 years experience in commercial and private practice roles.
Alex has recently acted on a number of significant infrastructure projects and is experienced in a variety of contract structures as well as developing tender packages, advising on procurement issues and disputes.
Alex has an interest in technology in the construction sector, particularly in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and has worked with a number of clients in the BIM space.
Alex acts for a range of industry participants including government, owners, developers, contractors, consultants and financiers.
Alex has an in-depth understanding of the issues faced by stakeholders and participants in the construction and infrastructure sectors. He understands the operational and commercial drivers that underpin complex projects and applies this understanding to legal considerations. Experience
NYSE listed company
Acting for a NYSE listed food manufacturer to establish their operations in Australia. This involved providing advice on the procurement of various facilities, preparation of supply and consultancy agreements and assisting with regulatory issues in Victoria;
International procurement
Acting for a major facilities manager to prepare a new procurement suite for their operations in the Middle East. The procurement suite catered to a broad range of engagements including various supply agreements and supporting contract administration tools;
Renewables
Advising a renewables developer on the delivery and operation of three large solar farms in Australia (in New South Wales and Queensland). As part of the engagement, the team advised across the entire breadth of structuring, delivery and operational issues, including in relation to the resolution of various disputes that arose across the three projects;
Commercial retail development
Acting for a developer in relation to a significant commercial retail development supporting a major supermarket and surrounding tenancies. The project required significant stakeholder management with local government, financiers and the builder in order to successfully deliver the project;
Water infrastructure
Acting for NSW and QLD government agencies in the development of their water infrastructure;
Local Council
Acting for a large Sydney council in Supreme Court proceedings against the builder and designer of a social infrastructure project in NSW.
