McCullough Robertson’s Corporate team has successfully advised its long-standing client, Sojitz Corporation (Sojitz), on its acquisition of the Ellis Air Conditioning Group (Ellis Air). Ellis Air is a heating, ventilation and air conditioning and mechanical services group providing energy-efficient design and construction services across Australia and New Zealand.

The deal was the first of its kind for Sojitz in Australia, with the acquisition diversifying Sojitz’s presence in the Australian market into the construction space and the energy conservation sector. Sojitz and Ellis Air aim to expand into the Energy as a Service (EaaS) field to provide a modern and comprehensive suite of services and realise a decarbonised society through energy efficient air-conditioning systems that reduce CO2 emissions.
